Today started early. Mom came over to hang with Robert while I got my oil changed and make a Wally World run. Jen Woodall-I thought of you while getting my oil changed. It happens all the time, "Ma'am, your air compressor filter needs to be changed-that'll be another $50". I told the guy that it won't be necessary to do that right now. I will probably need to change it next month or something. He shows another filter which looks so white and I just look at him like he's crazy. "I think that filter looks brand new", I said. He says, "You're right." Anyway, thought I would share my experience. I believe it happens to all of us ladies. I didn't realize today's weather was going to be yucky. It was cold and rainy. But I had too much to do to be lazy. I got home just in time to unload the groceries and rest before Robert's doc appt.
We arrive at Dr. Athari's office and the inform us that they were worried about us. His appt was at 11:15 and we thought it was at 3! Apparently Robert didn't realize the time of his appt. Luckily Dr. Athari was still there. I know Robert has had a rough week so it's no suprise that this happened. Dr. Athari thought Robert look ALOT better than when he saw him on Friday, so that was re-assuring. We had put together a list of questions for the doctor to answer so we would be prepared for the visit. We find out that food triggers "silent migraines". The doc says, No Cheese, No Red Wine, No Salt, and No Chocolate! I saw Robert get sad and I knew exactly what he would be missing-CHEESE! Robert loves cheese on EVERYTHING, just about. I quickly got sad for him because on my Wally World trip, I bought some Dove chocolates and String Cheese thinking it would make his day. Now, I feel like a horrible person! So, I am going to try to not buy cheese/chocolates for awhile. The doctor wants Robert to stay on Depakote until we know its safe to gradually take him off of it. We asked about the lesion on his brain and he is not concerned about it. He said it was only about 1-2mm. The lesion maybe there because of these silent migraines. I am sure we will do testing in the future to monitor that. The doctor visit was overall good. Dr. Athari wants to see Robert in 2 weeks. I think we will be seeing him very often for now. The doctor wants Robert to take this week off as well. The medicine is taking awhile to adjust to his system. He also mentioned that he should not drive for 3-4 weeks. So, we will have to figure out a drive-to-work schedule soon. Mom has already offerred to help out so that's nice. Lots of changes to be happening. For better and for worse. The doctor did compliment me for being such a good wife by taking care of him. That was good to hear. :-)
On our way home, we decided to stop at Blockbuster. Robert was feeling really good and he needs to have something to watch for this week he's off. Plus, we had a $15 Giftcard. He picked a movie to buy and I picked one out. He picked Inglourious Bastards and I chose All About Steve, which we both haven't seen either.
Robert was still feeling good when we got home and we decided to hang some things on the wall. I really wanted to wait until we painted, but I just couldn't take it anymore to have bare walls. Paint will come soon. I will try to post pics later. Robert's Mom came over to watch the Bachelor and ended up staying the night. About an hour or so after dinner, Robert started to feel sick but was able to calm down in about an hour. It seems to happen every night around the same time. We had rotisserie chicken, no salt green beans, and new potatoes (with a little spray butter). This may have triggered it. I will have to try something new for dinner tomorrow.
Overall today was a pretty good day.
Tomorrow is the beginning of the end- season finale LOST! We're excited about that.
Goodnight.
♥XOXO♥
