Robert decided yesterday afternoon that he wanted to go to the E.R. He hasn't felt well for the past two days. Well, on Wednesday during the day he felt great then it turned right around that night. The symptoms are the same. At least he can hold fold down now. He's just very picky and doesn't eat much. His main concern to go to the E.R. was that his throat felt swollen and sore. He was having a hard time swallowing and the perscription said if that occured to call the doctor. He called the neurologist and he was off til Tuesday and the "on-call" doctor wasn't seeing patients. WTH?!? How can you be on-call and not see patients? ERRR! The nurse told Robert that if he needed medical attention that he would have to go to the E.R. Mom took him to the E.R. I was at work and showed up when I got off. Robert's Mom met them there. They took his vitals and his pulse rate was 128! He finally got back to see a doctor and the doctor was the 1st one we saw on the 1st visit to the E.R. 2 weeks ago. He remembered Robert. He ordered for some more blood work. He wanted to check to see if there was too much Depakote in his system. So, maybe we're onto something now... We're thinking, maybe that's why he hasn't gotten better-he has had too much or not enough of Depakote. So the results come in and his level his PERFECT. Well, on one hand that's a relief and on the other we're back to square 1. His level was at 78 and its supposed to be between 70-100. I guess its not too low. The doctor gave Robert some information about autonomic instability. After doing some research on it last night, there are alot of those symptoms that he is having. But we are also finding out that for several diagnoses he has symptoms for those too. We are so exhausted and frustrated. I believe there are some testing to see if he has the autonomic instability.
Robert's sister, along with Eli, is going to take care of him today. Robert plans on getting on the phone and calling doctors to see one today. He went on short-term disability on Wednesday, I believe, and they only did it for 3 days. I am pretty sure they will have to extend that. He is not ready to go back yet. Please keep praying for him. Thank you everyone for praying.
